AliExpress challenged us to create a bold, expressive brand system for their new Northstar theme: “Vibes on a Budget.”

The goal was to build a visual identity that felt bold, joyful, and unmistakably current — one that could flex across social, campaign visuals, and broader marketing collateral. At the heart of it: celebrating all the fun, fabulous things you can buy on AliExpress, and showing that great style and self-expression don’t have to come with a high price tag.

Shape language built on organic, rhythmic forms that radiate energy, movement, and joy.

Inspired by the sun-soaked playfulness of summer, these forms feel fluid and punchy — always in motion, never static, with bursts of expressive color and attitude.

Highlighting key products and AliExpress’s playful mascot Ayi, this system captures the energy of summer with bold, expressive visuals. It’s vibrant, character-driven, and totally “vibes on a budget” — merging fun, affordability, and scroll-stopping charm. Each composition leans into exaggerated color, soft textures, and upbeat copy to celebrate seasonal joy without the spend.
